Mysterious Villain is Shown in New AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Promo Art
Avengers: Infinity War is so anticipated, that any little reveal will be highly analyzed and dissected. That is the case here, when a new piece of art from a coffee mug that first appeared on a Marvel fan account on Instagram, shows off a new beast that is evidently not part of the Black Order.
That’s him(?) on the bottom of the Infinity War mug. The creature is apparently not a member of the Black Order, who are a group of powerful beings that work for Thanos. So who could that be?
There are a lot of “nobodies” in the movie, like all of the cronies that Cap and T’Challa seem to be running toward in Wakanda. I would chalk it up to that, just a henchman of the henchman. Thanos will come prepared, so perhaps he is ready with someone who can go toe to toe with The Hulk, some of Tony’s armor, or someone like Drax. On the other hand, the monster could be someone important, that was adapted from the comics and just not identified yet. The MCU has always taken things from the comics and adapted them as they saw fit. So maybe this is a new character that is part of the Black Order. Whoever it is, its probably a safe bet to say that it won’t be friendly to our Avengers. It’s too bad Groot isn’t full size yet, that thing seems like a perfect foe for him.
We won’t have long to find out – Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters May 4, 2018.
