Mark Hamill to Receive Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

Read Time:1 Minute, 7 Second

Mark Hamill, best known for his role as Luke Skywalker from Star Wars and The Joker from Batman: The Animated Series will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on March 8.

Fellow Star Wars alum Harrison Ford, along with George Lucas will be at the ceremony to induct Hamill. Anna Martinez, producer of the Walk of Fame ceremonies said the following:

“‘Star Wars’ fans will be over the moon that hearing their idol Mark Hamill is going to be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. We are proud to add this extraordinary actor on our historic Walk of Fame.”

Hamill has acted steadily for the past 40 years, including a ton of voice over work. Most recently, he reprised his role as Master Jedi Luke Skywalker in last years Star Wars: The Last Jedi. His take on The Joker is one of the most beloved in the Batman fandom, and just in case he didn’t have enough credit with the geeks, he appeared in The Flash as The Trickster – a role he inhabited in the early 90’s version of the show.

I was surprised when I heard the news, because I thought he must already have one. This is very well deserved, and the speech that Harrison Ford gives will be worth watching on YouTube, I’m sure.
