It’s been pretty quiet on the Aquaman front lately.
Aside from a few photos and a few comments from director James Wan and star Jason Momoa, fans have been waiting to see what Wan has cooking for the first solo film starring the soon-to-be King of Atlantis. That may soon change.
Yesterday, Empire composer Carlo Villalobos Jr. dropped a picture on Instagram showing he is scoring the first trailer for Aquaman. That’s usually one of the final steps before a trailer gets released, after all.

It’s interesting to see that footage from Justice League is being worked into the trailer. With the trailer now being scored, it should only be a matter of time before we get our first look at Wan’s superhero flick. With Warner Bros. releasing three films over the next couple of months – Tomb Raider, Ready Player One and Rampage – it would make sense that the trailer is close to being ready.
WB will have to bring the same A-game for Aquaman that they brought to Wonder Woman if they want to get audiences to flock to their film during the crowded month of December. With Justice League not performing well financially and critically, this puts Wan in a similar situation that Patty Jenkins had to go through after Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad proved to be divisive and put a hurting on the DC brand. Will Wan be able to deliver for WB that same way he has with the Conjuring franchise? Only time will tell.
Aquaman swims to theaters on December 21.
Are you guys ready for the trailer for Aquaman?
