Fox Delays Shane Black’s THE PREDATOR And Robert Rodriguez’s ALITA: BATTLE ANGEL!

It’s just been revealed that Fox, as it prepares to get bought out by Disney (or Comcast), is making some adjustments to its release schedule. A pair of films have gotten delayed, and a previously-announced film now has a premiere date. The films in question are Shane Black’s The Predator, Robert Rodriguez’s Alita: Battle Angel, and Kenneth Branagh’s Death on The Nile- the sequel to last year’s Murder on The Orient Express.

Let’s start with the smallest change.

Shane Black’s The Predator has been pushed back nearly six weeks. Instead of arriving on August 3, fans eagerly awaiting the return of the Predator franchise will have to wait until September 16. All in all, not so bad, but it will no longer be part of the summer movie season. That film is set to star Boyd Holbrook, Olivia Munn, Trevante Rhodes, and Thomas Jane.

When it comes to Alita: Battle Angel, coming from Rodriguez and producer James Cameron, the film is shifting five months. While we were originally going to get the manga adaptation on July 20, it’s now slated to arrive in theaters on December 21.

And following the success of last fall’s Murder on The Orient Express, it was quickly announced that Kenneth Branagh was asked to return for a second Agatha Christie mystery. He’ll be back in the director’s chair and reprising his take on the iconic detective Hercule Poirot in Death On The Nile. There hasn’t been any news on when we could expect to see this film until now. As part of Fox’s lineup announcements, we can now reveal that it’ll come out on November 8, 2019.
