JESSICA JONES Season 2 Trailer Features Interesting MCU Reference!
For the fans who are ready to jump back in to the Marvel/Netflix universe, today’s your lucky day!
Netflix has released the trailer and synopsis for the second season of Jessica Jones and it reminds us why we love Krysten Ritter’s hard-hitting, pessimistic heroine.
“New York City private investigator Jessica Jones (Ritter) is beginning to put her life back together after murdering her tormenter, Kilgrave. Now known throughout the city as a super-powered killer, a new case makes her reluctantly confront who she really is while digging deeper into her past to explore the reasons why.”
The trailer shows that we will get more info on Jones’ past and her coming to grips with a world who knows who, and what, she is in Season 2 of Jessica Jones. We also get to see a continuation of the Netflix tradition of dropping references to the greater Marvel Cinematic Universe.
In past episodes of Marvel/Netflix shows, fans would get little hints that the TV universe takes place in the film universe, but they were more “blink and you miss it” kind of moments, like passing references to the climactic Battle of New York from 2012’s The Avengers. In this trailer, a little boy asks Jones if she knows Captain America. Jones didn’t look amused by the boy’s question.
Fans have made arguments whether or not the Marvel film and TV universes should be “shared” or not (RTF co-founder Jon Crabtree has his own argument on why the universes are separate). No matter which side of the fence you’re on, it looks like we’re going to get more of the same compelling character drama that the Marvel-Netflix union has brought to us.
The second season of Jessica Jones will be available to binge on Netflix starting on March 8.
