BLACK PANTHER Runtime: How Does It Stack Up To Other Marvel Flicks?
We now live in an age where everything is a story. Whether it’s a logo reveal, a tease for a teaser, a generic synopsis, or set photos of actors drinking coffee, fans have developed such an insatiable appetite for their favorite properties that they’ll dissect any little aspect of a production. Today, we’ve got one of those seemingly trivial bits of information for you by way of Black Panther‘s run time.
Anticipation for the film is sky high, with audiences everywhere dying to spend some time in Wakanda getting to know T’Challa and his intriguing ensemble of characters. How much time will they get to spend there when Black Panther arrives next week? 2 hours and 14 minutes, that’s how much.
According to the British Board of Film Classification, Ryan Coogler’s first Marvel film will clock in within what’s become their standard range of between 120 and 147 minutes. Marvel Studios seems to love giving us films that clock in at “2 Hours and change” without really going past the 2:30 mark. Of the 17 films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), 12 of them have fallen in this range.
At 134 minutes, Black Panther‘s closest comparisons are Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Spider-Man: Homecoming, which clock in at 136 and 133 minutes, respectively.
Not bad company to be in!
Keep your browser right here at Revenge of The Fans because, later today, we’ll reveal and analyze Black Panther‘s Rotten Tomatoes score, which is set to be unveiled in a bit.
