TOY STORY 4 Gets New Writer

Read Time:55 Second

For those who are fans of the Toy Story movies, it is a refreshing thought to know that Toy Story 4 has found itself a new screenwriter in Stephany Folsom just in time to move production along for the June 21, 2019 release.

As reported by Variety, Folsom comes in as a replacement for Rashida Jones and her writing partner Will McCormack who both stepped away from the film last November. There is no word as to why McCormack stepped down but Jones denied a report that she was subject of unwanted advances from animation chief John Lasseter. Instead, she released a statement that her decision to leave was over “philosophical differences” that dealt with her feeling women and people of color were not on equal creative ground at Pixar studios.

Folsom, who’s resumé is fairly minimal up this point, will now have the chance to add her mark to the Toy Story, franchise which has raked in near $2 billion worldwide and continues to be a favorite among young audiences, some 20+ years after the first film in the series premiered.
