New Details Emerge for JOHN WICK 3
Keeanu Reeves’ John Wick and John Wick: Chapter 2 have completely revitalized his career and given him, arguably, his most memorable role next to Neo. With the success of those films (and given how John Wick: Chapter 2 left off) we’ve just been waiting to hear when John Wick 3 would kick into production. The answer is very soon.
That Hashtag Show reported some interesting details on John Wick 3. For starters the co-director of John Wick and sole director of John Wick: Chapter 2, Chad Stahelski, has officially signed on for the third film in the franchise. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. We are also looking at a March 1st start date for filming which will take place in New York City, and may also be shooting in Spain and Russia.
Characters returning from the previous film include Cassian (Common), the Bowery King (Laurence Fishburne) and the mute-assassin Ares (Ruby Rose). We are still unsure what role they will play in the movie, especially since John Wick whooped Cassian and Ares, but left them alive! Will they be grateful or out for revenge? There is also word of a new antagonist, to be played by Reeves’ 47 Ronin co-star Hiroyuki Sanada. He is said to be the head of a Japanese crime syndicate.

Supposedly, there is also an as-of-yet cast female role opposite Reeves. They are still searching for an actress age range 20s-40s. John Wick 3 starts shooting in just over a month, so we should start hearing much more. The film is set to debut in theatres May 17, 2019.
Where do you think the story is going in John Wick 3? What are you most excited to see out of the new film in the franchise? Let us know!

Oh boy. I flippin’ LOVE Hiroyuki Sanada. Big time. He is masterful in The Twilight Samurai. I hope this rumor becomes fact. The Wick films are a helluva good time. I’m already hype.
What did you think of JW 2, compared the first one? A step backwards, forwards, or a lateral?
They certainly stepped up the action and gun-fu in a big way. It was wild and crazy and I loved it. Tonally it was different than the first as it didn’t have the emotional weight or feeling of risk. Maybe I need to watch it again, but John seemed pretty damn invincible in Chapter 2. It was a gonzo assassins vs. assassins flick and I was fine with that. I felt like John Wick Chapter 2 didn’t need to get made, but they did a great job with expanding the universe.
I like the first one better, but the sequel was great. The cliffhanger at the end makes me eager to find out how he will survive since he’s been “greenlit” and seemingly every last assassin on the planet is after him. I’m totally down for Chapter 3.
It should come as no surprise to you that we’re on the EXACT same page. Like, you just said exactly what I would’ve written. Thanks for saving me the time, brother.
